Mr. Bill Thompson of the Ocala Star Banner wrote an article that appears in today's newspaper (and online) about the growth of NPAs (no party affiliation) and third party voter registration. The article is informative and accurate; however, one could be left with the impression that the number of voters registered with the Florida Whig Party is four as that was the number cited for the Modern Whig Party. This continues to be a minor issue that pops up from time to time. The Florida Whig Party is not affiliated with the Modern Whig movement and is the first political party to achieve voter registration and ballot access, as a Whig party since the 1800s. Our platform is "old-school" and easily understood with the ten words to live by:
